List of Offer for Sale (OFS) - September 2025
An Offer for Sale (OFS) is a way for the promoters or large shareholders of a listed company to sell their shares to the public through the stock exchange platform. It’s like a “bulk sale” of shares by big owners (promoters, government, or institutions) directly to investors in the stock market.
Table reflects list of Offer of Sale (OFS) - September 2025
Example:
Suppose XYZ Ltd. is a listed company.
- The promoter owns 70% of the company.
- SEBI rules say promoters can’t hold more than 75%, so the promoter decides to sell 5% shares.
- They announce an OFS with a floor price of ₹200 per share.
On the OFS day:
- Investors can bid for shares at or above ₹200 on NSE/BSE.
- If you bid ₹205 and the shares are available, you may get them.
- The money goes to the promoter (seller), not the company.
Result: Promoter’s stake reduces from 70% to 65%, and investors get a chance to buy shares at a fixed price.
